Kevin Francis Smith In Memoriam
Kevin Francis Smith was born to Francis and Patricia Smith on February 25th, 1965 in Philadelphia, PA. Kevin received his education at Barrett Jr High and South Philadelphia High School. As a child, he excelled in sports including football and sofiball Kevin was known for his infectious smile, outgoing and silly, yet fiercely protective personality. He spent his career as a Chef, Union Organizer and finally, a Realtor, where he was employed by McCarthy Real Estate at the time of his passing. Kevin was passionate about real estate and helped two of his children purchase their first homes.
Kevin had a multitude of talents. He was a master at carpentry and could build almost anything, a skilled artist who enjoyed drawing and painting, the go to handy man, and the "grill master" , as he was affectionately known by family and friends. Kevin also enjoyed practicing shooting at the gun range and enjoyed taking his family and friends to learn and practice. An outdoor enthusiast, he also enjoyed bike riding, softball, and was known to participate in the Broad Street Run. He attended church at Unity Temple Worship Center and Watch God Move Deliverance Ministries where he was ordained as a Deacon.
Kevin was passionate about football as a die hard Raiders fan. His favorite saying on football Sunday was, "Just Win Baby". In 2021, his dream came true when he attended a Raiders game in Las Vegas which included a tour of the facility and stadium. He referred to this day as, "the best day of his life". Amongst his other passions included music. He was a die hard Prince fan with his favorite song being Purple Rain. He also loved Teena Marie and referred to her as his "first wife"
Above all of his loves and passions were his children Danielle, Tiffany, Kason and Mackenzie. Kevin passed on to each of his children one of his many talents. Danielle has his love of building and fixing, Tiffany has his passion for interior design and his love for 90's R&B music, Kason has his ambition and determination and Mackenzie has his artistic ability and creativity. Kevin is preceded in death by his father, Francis Smith, step-daughter, Allena Washington, granddaughter, Inara Ruth Bynum, and sister in law, Roxanne Thompson- Smith. Kevin's life will forever be cherished by his mother Patricia Smith, daughters Danielle Stephens, Tiffany Stephens and Mackenzie Smith, his son Kason Smith, step-daughter Allysah Washington, siblings Tyrone Smith, Gregory Smith and Kim Smith. His nephew, nieces, and a host of extended family, friends and colleagues whose lives he has touched.
We will miss him dearly.
